Objective
On completion of the course the student will be able to:
- describe the effect of force on a body
- describe the effect of moment on a body
- describe the principle of equilibrium, write equations of equilibrium and solve them
- name the types of support for a beam and solve support reactions of a beam
- describe the distribution of load on beam support
- describe and analyse the falling of a body
- categorize the internal force quantities of a beam, solve the internal force quantities of a beam, draw force quantity surfaces and to define extreme values
- draw up an equivalent force system
