Objective

On completion of the course the student will be more confident in participating in everyday communication situations. He or she starts to understand how to conclude the meaning of an unfamiliar word in short and simple texts of everyday life. He or she can describe him/herself and his/her family, living conditions, studies and job at present and in the past, in speaking and in writing.

Content

Oral and written communication in everyday contexts: one's backround and country of origin, studies, work, hobbies. New grammatical structures, for example expressing hypothetical and imaginary things, suggestions, wishes, requests and politeness. Summoning of sentence types. Her or his skills will be on level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the course objectives on a satisfactory level. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are limited compared to the content of the course.

The student has achieved the course objectives on a good level, but some aspects of the student’s skills and knowledge still require further attention. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are good with regard to the content of the course. The student is able to apply the acquired skills in communication situations encountered in studies, work, or free time.

The student has achieved the course objectives excellently. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are strong with regard to the content of the course.
