Objective

By the end of the course the student will be able to:
* identify the present structure of markets in Europe
* describe the main objectives of European market integration
* understand the legal framework governing European market integration
* identify the factors conducive to business in the European markets
* understand the modes of entry into the European markets
* describe current issues affecting business in the European markets

Content

This course has been designed to give the student an overview of the legal and economic aspects of trade and markets in Europe.
The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding of the structure and functioning of European markets. This course is helpful towards understanding the course Introduction to Business Law in the second semester.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient performance: showing just enough understanding of the subject to merit a pass grade but requiring greater effort to achieve a more satisfactory result

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good performance: showing strong understanding of basic concepts and good grasp of techniques, but with certain minor problems still requiring further attention

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent performance: not only fulfils all standard requirements but demonstrates originality and imagination
