Descriptions

The curriculum in Osteopathy programme consists of 5 modules, each with a spesific theme: Human Structure and Function, Osteopathic examination and treatment, Osteopathic clinical practice, Development and management skills in osteopathy, and Elective study module of 15 ECTS, that the student can compile from the multidisciplinary selection of Metropolia. The studies also include a 10 ECTS innovation project, which carried out in multidisciplinary teams.

The competence-based curriculum with competence objectives describes what kind of competence the student is required to acquire. Goals help the student to evaluate their own skills and future learning. The student’s own choices, recognition of prior learning (RPL) and flexible individual implementations enable a personal study path that described in a personal study plan (HOPS). Tutor, study counsellor, other teachers and staff support the progress of the student’s studies.

During the training, it is possible for a student to apply for student exchanges of different lengths. It is also possible to participate in international activities e.g. Metropolia International Week, in connection with studies and in joint activities with foreign exchange students. Part of the teaching can be implement in English.
