Objective

After completion of this course the student understands basics of the environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology and she or he is able to pay attention to the environmental impacts of industry and human action. After completion of this course the student has basic understanding of the environmental impacts of chemicals.
The course will provide students with an understanding and knowledge to the main content of life cycle assessment including definition of a product system, data collection, inventory analysis and impact assessment. After completion of this course students can perform LCA independently and they understand the importance of the source of errors to the results of LCA.

Content

Definition of coals and the product system of life cycle assessment. Performance of inventory analysis and impact assessment. The critical analysis of LCA and conclusion making. Different applications of LCA. Standards related on life cycle assessment. Team work of LCA for selected product or a system.

Skills to perform inventory and impact assessment analysis.
