Objective

The student will learn to interpret mathematical principles and formulae in a practical way, and find out essential information to solve a practical problem.

The student will have skills in implementing and applying demanding mathematical principles in a practical computer programme.

Content

A practical project in engineering, e.g. one in the following subjects

-Statistical Methods in Image Processing: Authenticity Investigation
-Image Compression, esp. JPEG
-Statistical Pattern Recognition Methods

-Principles of the other two from the Course Contents list

Qualifications

Applied Mathematics, use of MATLAB
