Goal of the degree programme
The goal of the Degree Programme in Media is to provide students with basic professional skills in the various fields of content production and the qualifications needed to become an independent and cooperative professional. The goal is also to provide students with qualifications for further studies and a capacity to maintain and improve skills and competencies in different working and learning environments.

Students will learn to integrate the theories and practices of different disciplines and gain the ability to contribute to the development of their own discipline in project and problem-oriented learning.

The specialisations form a whole, which offers students an opportunity to learn content production for various media: film, web, radio, television and other audiovisual media.

Studies comprise common core studies, professional studies, elective studies and a final project. In addition, a degree includes practical training (30 credits).

The purpose of common core studies is to offer students sufficient theoretical basic information to understand the history, scholarly tradition, operating environment and concepts of their own disciplines. General knowledge of the relevant field, society and the domestic and international environments are necessary to improve professionally and engage in further studies.
In professional studies, students will complete the degree requirements of the specialisation they chose when applying to the programme. These studies provide the technical and artistic competences that will enable them to work in their chosen profession. Teaching will partly take the form of projects which provide practice in collaboration and project management.

In final projects, students must demonstrate capacity for independent work, problem solving and an inquisitive approach. The final project should be working-life oriented and can take the form of multi-form work where one part of the project is an artistic or practical project, performance or documentation.

Final projects always include a paper. The project can be carried out independently or as teamwork.
