The student will understand the effect of various illnesses on the patient?s state of health, the effects of radiation, and what role radiation can play in the overall treatment of the patient.

The course consists of the following:
SXXCN02G Internal Medicine: 1 credit
Objectives
The student will learn about the causes, symptoms, examination and treatment of the commonest diseases in Finland.

Cardiopulmonary diseases Respiratory diseases Metabolic disorders, diabetes, thyroid and adrenal gland disorders
SXXCN01P Surgery: 1 credit
Objectives
The student will learn about the symptomatic examination and treatment of a surgery patient.

Surgically treated basic illnesses, Traumas and their treatment
SRXXC09D Radiation Biology: 1 credit
Objective
The student will understand the effects of radiation of different tissues, the effect of radiation in relation to a chosen treatment, and can explain these.

The beneficial and adverse effects of radiation.

Objectives
The student will learn about the basic examination and radiological diagnostics of chest and bone tissue.
