Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student can explain the qPCR's and other selected DNA-analysis methods of operating.
2. The student knows the recombinant protein production and downstream process related to the concepts and steps.
3. The student is able to work safely in the laboratory. He/she is able to handle laboratory equipment, reagents and tools correctly. This report corresponds to the model description of the structure and contains all the required sections and contains no factual errors. The results are reported with the right accuracy. The student can work in a team, showing respect for others.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student can design a qPCR reaction's protocol, and select the most appropriate method of analysis of DNA samples and the research objectives.
2. The student can design recombinant protein production and downstream process for the model protein.
3. The student works carefully and purposefully. The structure of the report is clear and the student emphasizes the right points. He/she is able to make independent conclusions about the results. The student can negotiate the division of labor and accepts group decisions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student can critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of qPCR's and other selected DNA analysis methods and propose alternative methods.
2. The student knows how the recombinant protein production and downstream process are regulated and is able to take into account the implementation of the GMP regulations and the Finnish legislation.
3. The student is able to plan and schedule his/her work intelligently. He/she works in the laboratory showing initiative and high quality. The report has been returned on time, and its linguistic form is excellent. The report combines the theory and results naturally and it extensively uses reliable sources. The student prepares for meetings, informs the others about changes and shows responsibility for the overall situation of experiments.
