Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can
- explain the main principles and practices of risk management
- make a construction site moisture management plan and implement it
- list the central regulations and instructions related to occupational safety
- list the most common safety hazards on a building site
- explain how the industrial safety authority supervises a construction site
- explain the major safety risks related to renovation
- draw up an area plan for an apartment building site
- carry out the initial and maintenance inspection of the most common scaffolding and machinery
- draw up a storey level fall protection plan for the framework phase of an apartment building site.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

On completion of the course the student can
- explain the main principles and practices of risk management
- make a construction site moisture management plan and implement it
- explain the contents of the most important safety regulations and guidelines
- explain the most common safety hazards at a building site and how to be prepared for them
- list the personal safety equipment needed at an apartment building site
- describe construction site safety plans and audits
- explain how the industrial safety authority supervises a construction site
- explain the major safety risks related to renovation
- draw up an area plan for an apartment building site
- carry out the initial and maintenance inspection of the most common scaffolding and machinery
- draw up a storey level fall protection plan for the framework phase of an apartment building site.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can
- explain how responsibility for occupational safety s divided between the developer, designers, site management, workers and subcontractors
- explain what construction site accidents are like, what causes them and how much they cost
- explain the juridical consequences of violating the law e.g. in the case of an accident on a construction site
- compare different methods and implementation solutions for safety, risk and cost management.
