Clinical practice and learning tasks 10 credits. Duration of the internship: 6-8 weeks approx. 30-35h/week plus learning tasks. The traineeship may also require preparation for work tasks outside working hours at the workplace.
Exam schedules
Clinical practice does not include exams or tests. You will set personal objectives for your placement, which will be assessed during and at the end of the placement.
Clinical practice includes one supervision interview between the student, the supervising physiotherapist and the teacher. The time of this discussion is agreed separately.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Continuous assessment.
Criteria for an approved clinical practice:
Consider safety considerations in the delivery of physical therapy and in the client's environment so that the client's safety is not compromised. Interacts in a manner that respects the client and their rights. Observes the rules agreed for the work placement, such as hours and timetables (not absent except for illness, not late, not leaving before the end of working hours). Can justify his/her choices in terms of the methods of examination and therapy used. Able to report in writing on the client's physiotherapy process. Is able to reflect and identify strengths and challenges in his/her practice on the basis of this reflection.
Passed completion of the learning tasks given.
Recording of objectives, self-assessment and assessment by the supervisor.
Student workload
10 ects.
Approximately 30-35h/week of clinical practice for 6-8 weeks plus learning assignments.
The length of the work placement will be agreed in accordance with the opinion of the Valvira.
Content scheduling
It is possible to agree on the periodicity of the clinical practice with the placement.

Further information
This clinical practice is intended for persons who have completed a physiotherapy degree outside Finland and whose Valvira opinion requires them to supplement their skills with physiotherapy work experience. You will receive a certificate of completion. You will then have to continue your professional accreditation with Valvira.
It is the student's responsibility to find a traineeship. If necessary, the student will receive guidance from the teacher on how to find a placement. The traineeship must be in a physiotherapy unit in Finland, supervised by a registered physiotherapist.
The Finnish language level must be at least B1, but a better command of Finnish is recommended. B1 language level requires learning Finnish at the same time as the training. Placement may require a certain level of Finnish.
The student must submit a criminal record certificate from the Legal Register Centre to Metropolia's Student and Applicant Services in good time before the start of the internship. For more information on ordering an extract, please contact the teacher.
Students must have vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. If there is a lack of vaccination protection, the student must ensure that the necessary vaccinations are obtained in good time before the start of the traineeship. Further information is available on the THL website. Vaccination protection must be presented at the workplace.
