Objective

After completing the course, the students are able to:
• perceive the various stages and methods of making yarn, fabrics and knits, and their significance to the characteristics of the product.
• understand the differences between different manufacturing methods of textile materials, both in terms of technology, product and environment.

Content

Textile processes from fiber to yarn, fabric and knit. Impact of manufacturing on properties of the product. The most common staple fiber production methods and filament yarn manufacturing process including new cellulosic and re-engineered fibers. Yarn types and yarn numbering. Processes for manufacturing fabrics (woven fabrics, knitwear and nonwovens). Basic structures of spinning, weaving and knitting machines and equipment.
