Objective

On completion of the course the student will be familiar with the basic measurement connections in electrical engineering as well as with the standard measuring instruments and their purposes. The student will understand the limitations and accuracies of the measuring instruments and the importance of safe conduct when taking measurements.
On completion of the course the student will be able to take the basic electrical measurements. The student will be able to plan measurement connections for electrical energy. The student will be able to use the standard measuring instruments correctly and in a safe way.

Content

Basic concepts of measurements in electricity, measurement connections for voltage, current and resistance, expansion of the measuring range, measuring both DC and AC quantities, and the use of an oscilloscope when measuring AC quantities. Occupational safety and electrical measurements.
Measurement of overtones and harmonic analysis, distance readouts, automatic measuring systems.

He or she is able to do the most common standard measurements as well as measurements of electric power and energy. The student knows some of the limitations of measuring instruments and is able to use the standard measuring instruments correctly and in a safe way.
