Learning outcomes

Students
-are familiar with the most common techniques of anaesthesia, their pros and cons as well as can prepare for these anaesthetic techniques based on the acquired knowledge on the patient.
-are familiar with the most common medicines used in anaesthesia and in intensive care, their indication for use, action mechanisms, side-effects, contraindications and dosage.
-can implement the central nursing methods required in anaesthetic and intensive care.
-evaluate patient’s basic vital signs during anaesthesia and in intensive care as well as understand the significance of information gained by patient observation and the patient monitoring systems.
