Objective
The students’ focus is on the environment surrounding the company. The students deepen their business idea through customer / market research. Upon completion of this course, the students know how an entrepreneur operates in society, and how society and different organizations and bodies may support entrepreneurs.
Students also understand the role of the entrepreneur as an employer and supervisor. In addition, students have a basic understanding of how internationalization may affect the company.

• Running a business and its significance to the economy
• Support networks for entrepreneurs
• Entrepreneur as an employer and supervisor
• Employer organizations and employee organizations and their impact on business
• Price formation of products at international level
• Import, export, customs, value-added taxation in international trade
• EU and other economic communities, their importance to individual entrepreneur
• Copyrights and patents
• Ethics in business
• Stories and experiences of other entrepreneurs

Students have achieved the course objectives fairly. Students will be able to identify, define and use the course subject area’s concepts and models.

Students have achieved the course objectives well, even though the knowledge and skills need improvement on some areas. Students are able to define the course concepts and models and are able to justify the analysis.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Students have achieved the objectives of the course with excellent marks. Students master commendably the course subject area’s concepts and models. Students are able to make justified and fluent analysis and to present concrete development measures or apply the objectives in practice.
