Objective

The student knows the principles of chromatography and the chromatography equipment. He/she is able to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses by using a variety of chromatographic separation techniques.

Content

1. Principles of chromatography
2. Operational principles of gas and liquid chromatography
3. Analysis by chromatography and reporting

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students shows he/she knows the core competencies of the objectives and can use concepts and information in coherent manner. The student is able to do based on chromatographic analysis according to the instructions and prepare a work report, which contain all of the required sections. The results are indicated with right accuracy.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students will understand how the measurement conditions of the of the analysis will affect by GC and HPLC techniques. The student works carefully and purposefully doing analysis. The report is clear in structure and style. Students are able to make independent conclusions and results will include measurement uncertainty estimates.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students are able to apply the chromatographic separation techniques for different analytes. He/she knows how to change the measurement conditions in order to improve the separation of GC and HPLC technique. He/she works independently, on their own initiative and goal-oriented. He/she is able to plan and schedule the work in a reasonable. The language used in the report and discussion of the results are excellent.
