Objective

Student has understanding of general importance of biotechnical unit operations and their role in biotechnical processes.
Student knows how the properties of biomaterials affect the selection of unit operations.
Student can in principle select realistic unit operations for larger processes.
Student can use common formulas in unit operations and solve mass balances using mathematical programs.

The student will demonstrate familiarity with the knowledge base and core content of the field and knows how to search for information in a diverse array of information sources.
