Objective
The student knows the substrate structures and properties of substrate materials to be treated, façade structures and the factors stressing the surface. He/she knows the properties of paints and materials used for surface treatment and their use. The student is able to define proper treatment systems. The student knows the failure mechanisms, structures and materials of facades, the stresses upon surface and the coating behavior stress. He/she knows the fire protection methods and the criteria for the design of the fire protection paint. The student knows the tasks of piping renovation project and the coating renovation tasks in the project. He/she is able to design practical arrangements for the construction site.
The student becomes acquainted with the basic concepts of heat and moisture in buildings and their effects on the functioning of structures and coatings.
