Objective
The course gives a general view on what studying in Industrial Management is, and also of what kind of work a graduate of Industrial Management might do.
The student knows the study environment and the field of Industrial Management as well as the central guidelines and rules of Metropolia. The student knows the structure of the curriculum and knows hos to plan the studies.
The student knows the core terminology in the field and has an overall understanding of how an Industrial company works, what business is and what the key success factors are for an Industrial Company.
The focus is on companies with products (physical products and/or services) that are technologically advanced and on companies that sell their products mainly to other companies.

Students know the course concepts and models well and are able to justify their decisions. The students are able to apply their knowledge in new situations. The student understands the importance of expertise in the field of business and is able to analyze his/her own expertise and areas requiring further development.

Students have achieved the objectives of the course with excellent marks. Students master commendably the course subject area’s concepts, models and tools. Students are able to make justified and fluent analysis and to present concrete development measures. The students are well prepared to apply their knowledge in new situations. Students are able to analyze the business sector expertise and the evolvement of their own expertise.
