Objective

On completion of the course, the student will be able to utilize 3D modelling techniques for the analysis of structures, factory layout design, sheet metal design, cast designs and mould design.
The student will be able to use surface design when creating 3D models. The student will be able to use 3D models in simulation and optimization and in rapid prototyping.
The student will be familiar with Product Data Management and Product Lifetime Management techniques, and be able to use these in defining the nomenclature of the structures, and the roles in Product Data Management.

Content

1. The student deepens his/her knowledge in 3D-modelling: parametrical designs and assemblies, surface design, sheet metal design, factory lay-out design and mould design.
2. The use of 3D models in assemblies, kinematic and space analyses of assemblies, simulation and rapid prototyping.
3. Product Data Management: naming the parts and assemblies, creating product data history and using the data architecture; connective surfaces to other information systems

Evaluation scale
