The course is carried out either as a working life project or as a special project specified by Metropolia. The project does not have to be a development task for the company, but it needs to develop the student’s professional skills and know-how in a new area.

Alternative contents for the project:
1. Industrial engineering reports for an infrastructure site and planning work for a real life project. The project and instructor will be negotiated with the company.
2. Working methods
3. Work planning
4. Schedule
5. Quality assurance
6. Cost management
7. Machinery and equipment
8. Occupational safety
9. Traffic arrangements during construction
10. Environmental impact control
11. Planning a real life infrastructure project (The project and instructor will be negotiated with the company. E.g. a street plan or a foundation plan.)
12. Literature survey on an agreed topic
As a result of the project the student will create a written report, in which he or she presents plans with reasoning and alternatives, or a research report based on literature.
The results of the project will be presented at a seminar held at the end of the course.
Attendance at the seminar is compulsory for all students.
