Objective

On completion of the course the student can
- manage a renovation project following the principles of project management
- plan the schedule, tasks and work arrangements
- act according to the risk management plan related to the project
- list methods, machinery and work arrangements related to different repair works
- plan on-site arrangements and logistics
- take care of customer communications and informing residents
- select suitable methods of weather protection and dust control at the renovation site
- implement a moisture management plan for the site.

Content

Work methods of typical repair works, equipment and work arrangements, demolition work, facade, roof and balcony repair, foundation repair, pipe rehabilitation, bath room repair and reparation of finishes.
On-site arrangements and logistics
Resident and customer arrangements

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

On completion of the course the student can
- list the special aspects of working on a renovation site
- describe the phases of demolition work
- describe the phases of facade, roof and balcony repair work
- describe the phases of foundation repair work
- describe the phases of pipe rehabilitation and bath room repair
- describe the phases of repairing finishes
- produce a task plan for a small repair task
- perform risk assessment related to the environment and occupational safety
- implement a moisture management plan for the site.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can
- analyse the special aspects of renovation based on how extensive and demanding the renovation project is
- explain the phases of demolition work
- produce a task plan for a small repair task.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can
- produce a task plan for a more extensive repair task
- perform risk assessment related to the environment and occupational safety in a demanding repair project
- implement a moisture management plan for the site and choose the appropriate protection methods.
