Objective

The student is able to describe aetiology, progression, and related structural changes on a cell and tissue level of the most common illnesses as well as the basics of a healing process from the pathophysiological point of view. The student manages tissue healing processes of low extremity tissues and understands the rehabilitation principles of different tissue types and the protocols related to rehabilitation. The student understands the differences between acute and overuse injuries and the common aetiology.

The student is able to plan and execute instructional situations for clients and groups that support and promote self-care utilizing appropriate didactive solutions. The student is able to produce applicable material that meets client’s needs. The student recognizes the most common musculoskeletal illnesses that impact lower extremities and is able to recognize the aetiology and differential diagnoses. The student becomes competent in evaluation, prevention, rehabilitation, treatment methods, and in instructing a client. The student understands the significance of collaboration with other professionals treating musculoskeletal clients.

The student is knowledgeable of therapeutic exercise, principles of joint mobilization, and understands their indication in the rehabilitation of different lower extremity problems.
