Objective

The student is able to describe the main content, terminology and key competencies of the podiatry as well as historic framework. The student is knowledgeable about the organization of podiatry services, recognizes the aspects of the quality podiatry and is committed to developing them. The student is able to describe the student’s own field, national and international networks and is able to utilize them in the study and work.

The student is able to search, assess and critically explain evidence-based individual study field information, professional practices and understands the meaning of evidence-based information. The student manages critical thinking, the rationale for forming concepts and theories, and understands the meaning of information processing in development work. The student is able to describe proper ethical practices for research and development projects. The student is able to describe healthy lower extremity and foot definitions. The student recognizes the changes in them and applies the information in client evaluation.

The student is familiar with the basics of first aid.

Ensiavun osuudesta lähiopiskelun eli harjoitustunnit voi hyväksilukea, mikäli opiskelijalla on osoittaa todistus aikaisemmasta ensiavun opiskelusta. Opiskelijan tulee lähettää dokumentti sähköpostin liitteenä ensiavun opettajalle: paivi.eskola@metropolia.fi hyvissä ajoin ennen lähiopetuksen toteutumista. Ensiavun opiskeluun sisältyy arvioitavia yksilö- ja pienryhmätehtäviä (ks. OMAn työtila). Ensiavun harjoitustunneille otetaan mukaan ennakkotehtävät tehtyinä ja pukeudutaan rentoihin vaatteisiin sekä sisäkenkiin. Harjoitustunneilla on läsäolovelvoite. Ensiavun harjoitukset toteutuvat pienryhmissä ja ryhmäjako ilmoitetaan hyvissä ajoin ennen harjoitustunteja.
