Objective

Students are familiar with the causes for transtibial and transfemoral amputations and different amputation techniques. They understand the activity level classification of clients and can use it

in the fabrication process of transtibial and transfemoral prostheses. Students can assess and measure these prostheses at a basic level. They know the basics of the modelling process by using the traditional and the electric method. They fabricate the prosthesis under supervision and are able to fit it. Students apply their knowledge on materials in the fabrication process. They can give instructions on the use of the prosthesis to the client and evaluate its suitability.
