Objective

Students
- have the basic clinical nursing skills required in various nursing environments
- follow the ethical guidelines and principles of nursing care
- act as responsible members of their workgroup
- understand the duties and obligations related to their work and that of other social and health care professionals
- are able to challenge their competence and to develop their actions based on self-reflection and -evaluation
- recognize emergency situations; come to rescue; know how to start first aid and administer symptomatic care
- know how to abide by fire safety standards and are aware of the basics of health care in state of emergency

Lectures, laboration, group work, independent assigments, clinical practice

Clinical practise takes place in actual nursing care environment for 40h, during one week.

This course is a combination of six independent parts:

State of emergency 0.5 op
Health technology 0.5 op
Firs aid 1.5 op
Fire safety 0.5 op
Personal safety 0.5 op
Clinical practice 1.5 op

It is possible to apply total or partly AHOT based on earlier studies.

- Total number of hours on course is 135 h, of which contact teaching hours (theory lessons ) labs hours, independent study h ( skill stations, assignments)
