Objective

Students can analyse and evaluate the results and conclusions of their R&D project in reference to achieving the objectives set for the project and having applicable results within their chosen theoretical framework of the project. Students are able to report the results and conclusions of their work according to the principles of academic writing. Students can use English in a professional setting both verbally and in writing meeting the demands of the work community. Students are capable of reading literature of the field and write pragmatic texts in English.

Content

The study unit is scheduled for the 3rd tem, and it consists of contact teaching, workshops as well as seminars. Each section of the study unit requires independent and active input of students in the implementation of assignments given during the contact teaching, workshops and seminars.

Research and development studies:

• analyses and evaluates critically national and international knowledge relevant to social development as well as utilises it in development work
• masters central concepts and use of methods relevant to R&D and knows how to apply them to work in a versatile manner
• innovates, prepares and implements R&D projects and evaluates their processes and effectiveness in cooperation with clients and partners.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Research and development studies:

• analyses and evaluates critically national and international knowledge relevant to social development as well as utilises it in a versatile manner to promote social welfare in society
• masters central concepts and use of methods relevant to R&D and knows how to apply them in a versatile manner and innovatively even to major R&D projects
• innovates, prepares and implements R&D projects in demanding operating environments as well as evaluates their processes and effectiveness in cooperation with clients and partners.
