Objective

The student
- explains the structure and principles of imaging and radiotherapy service organizations
- internalizes safety culture associated to radiographers work
- has competence in the basics of mathematics and clinical physics
- becomes familiar with the basic functioning of X-ray equipment and learns how to use it
- understands the fundamentals of imaging examinations and the relevant legislation that regulates radiographers’ work
- is familiar with the basic concepts of clinical radiography

Content

History of radiographer's profession and the basic concepts of clinical radiography
Research and care process of clinical radiography
The relevant legislation that regulates radiographers’ work
Mathematics and physics
Patient data systems, patient data documentation and privacy protection
Basics of radiographic imaging
Clinical practice 5 ECTS credits including 1,5 ECTS credits of working life

The studies in mathematic and physics start with reviews on things learned previously and will end up to the fundamental understanding of the x ray device.
There is a separate exam on radiation physics and x ray device.
