Objective

- can plan, implement and evaluate peripheral and central intravenous fluid, nutritional and medical treatment in an aseptic way as members of multiprofessional teams
- apply evidence-based knowledge to the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient’s acute or chronic pain management
- can provide patient education to clients/patients and their significant others on medication and pain management.

Content

Planning, implementing, evaluating and developing safe fluid treatment, pharmacotherapy and pain management by means of various methods
Detecting medication errors, their prevention and management
Multiprofessional cooperation, rehabilitation methods and patient education on medication and pain management

Pharmacotherapy includes pharmacotherapy theory and clinical laboratory and two 4 hour lessions about pharmacology 2.Theory lessions include active participation in face to face learning and participation in the first orientation lession is required.
Clinical laboratory lessions are obligatory and the possible learning tasks concerning the lession subject must be returned in time before lessions. During clinical laboratory lessons the students must work aseptically and actively considenring patient safety.

Pharmacotherapy 1 (Theories and Laboratories), Clinical Nursing and Anatomy and Physiology must be completed in order to participate in Medication 2 implementation.

The assignments and MATERIALS prepared by the teacher are works in accordance with the Copyright Act (404/61) to which the teacher has copyright. Assignments AND MATERIALS may not be used except in their own studies. Their public distribution is only allowed with the permission of the teacher.
