Clinical practice includes learning laboratory and simulation studies 2.5 ects

Clinical practice week 12-19.

Vocational literature on the practice environment given in connection with theoretical studies.

Teaching methods

Clinical practice is 15 ECTS which contains labs and simulations. Clinical practises and simulations (2,5 ECTS) are organized at the school in connection with theoretical studies prior to the internship. Clinical practises, simulations and calculation test must be completed before the practice starts.
Students may choose their own favorable internship.

International connections

Harjoittelu on mahdollista suorittaa KV-vaihdossa Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun ohjeiden mukaisesti. Opiskelijan tulee olla ajoissa yhteydessä kv-yhdyshenkilöihin ja huolehtia itse kv-vaihtoon liittyvistä asioista. COVID-19 tilanteesta johtuen kv-vaihtto keväällä 2021 ei tule todennäköisesti onnistumaan.

Completion alternatives

Kuudella opiskelijalla on mahdollisuus suorittaa 2,5 op harjoittelusta yhteistyöhankkeessa lääketieteellisen tiedekunnan ja Metropolia AMK sosionomi opiskelijoiden kanssa. Hankkeessa harjoitellaan moniammatillista yhteistyötä esimerkkipotilaiden avulla. Opetus hankkeessa tapahtuu viikoilla 9-10 (neljänä lähitapaamisena iltaisin klo 16-20. Harjoittelun voi AHOT:oida sairaanhoitajan sijaisuutena teoriaopetuksen mukaisessa ympäristössä. Opiskelija tekee AHOT-hakemuksen Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun ohjeiden mukaisesti omalle tutor opettajalleen hyvissä ajoin ennen harjoittelun alkamista. Harjoittelua ei voida ahotoida kesken harjoittelun. . AHOT-hakemuksessa opiskelija osoittaa sairaanhoitajan sijaisuutena tehdyn työn työtodistuksen ja todistuksen tehdyistä tunneista (320 tuntia sairaanhoitajan työtä), itsearvioinnin omasta osaamisestaan. Arvioinnin tulee pohjautua opintojakson tavoitteisiin.

Student workload

Clinical practice is 12,5 ECTS credits (320 hours) and lasts for 8 weeks. During the training, the working methods, shifts and general principles of the work community are followed in connection with the training.

During the practice there is a written assignment (research club), which provides separate instruction in theory studies. Doing that does not reduce the number of hours of training.

Content scheduling

Practice is done at weeks 12-19. As a student graduate in May, the practice must be completed before the graduation day.
