Content
Clinical practice includes learning laboratory and simulation studies 2.5 ects
Location and time
Workshop week 2,5 cr week 16 at the university.
Clinical practice 7,5 cr week 17-21.

Employer connections
Clinical practice is supervised in chosen clinical environment.
RPL: working as a substitute registered nurse in similar units as the practice environments.
Possible clinical environments: home hospitals, palliative care units and polyclinics, hospice care units, rehabilitation units and hospitals, homes and schools for disabled/children with special needs.
Special units: hemodialyce units, units for the patients in respirators. Third sector.

Student workload
Clinical practice 5 weeks, 200 hours (7,5 ECTS), week 17-21.
RPL for the clinical practice is possible with work experience as registered nurse (sairaanhoitaja) in similar units as the practice environments. Please see the RPL- guidelines.
Mandatory workshop week (2,5 cr) on week 16 at the university.
Workshop week must be completed before clinical practice.
Workshop week is not included in RPL decision and must be completed despite applying RPL for the clinical practice.

Study unit Critically ill patient must be done before this study unit.
Labs and workshop week must be done before the clinical practice.
Labs and workshop week are compulsory for all students and are not included in RPL decisions.
Info about the supervising teacher and clinical practice will be given in workshop week orientation.
