Objective

Students
- understand the philosophical, ethical and pedagogic premises of client service, instruction and counselling as well as their significance to their actions
- master client service, education and teaching as a work method included in their profession and use it in different contexts
- know how to plan, implement and evaluate client-oriented education and teaching in Finnish and in Swedish in cooperation with other experts
- are able to use existing educational and teaching material as well as produce new material in Finnish and in Swedish considering the client-oriented approach
- are able to assist clients/patients in using appropriate social and health care services.

Student

Assessment methods and criteria

Client Service and Counseling: assignments - passed/improved

Swedish: It is obligatory to take part in the Swedish classes and do homework and other tasks. Moreover, there will be an oral and written skills final exam (scale 1-5.).

N.B. In case the student’s educational language is other than Finnish, s/he carries out the course in Professional Swedish (Svenska - Kundbetjäning och handledning) and Finnish as a second language/foreign language.
