Objective

Students
- can encounter and maintain nursing interaction in cooperation with clients with mental health problems and substance abuse problems including their significant others in various operating environments to promote mental health and prevent problems in a resource-oriented way
- understand the impact of mental health and use of intoxicants on the wellbeing of individuals and their significant others
- can plan, implement and evaluate mental health and substance abuse nursing
- can support a client in acute crisis
- can act in multidisciplinary teams and networks.

Participation in orientation is obligatory.
Absencenses must be compensate.
Psychology (1 cr) consists of two classes with preliminary assignments in Moodle and an exam and/or dialogue exam. To pass, you have to finish the pre-assignments in Moodle and pass the exams.
First year studies must be completed (ca. 40 cr.) and Lääkehoito 1.
Students must confirm their attendance for a course implementation by being present when tuition begins or in another manner agreed with the lecturer; for example, by returning the first course assignment. Students who are unable to attend the first teaching session due to illness may also confirm their attendance by informing the lecturer of this in advance.
