    Learning outcomes of the course
    Students
    - are aware of the recommendations and care paths concerning high-risk pregnancies
    - are familiar with the most common types of high-risk pregnancies and complications during childbirth as well as factors affecting them
    - have the basic competence to manage both high- and low-risk pregnancies independently as members of a multiprofessional work group
    - are able to describe how midwives can anticipate possible complications during pregnancy and childbirth
    - are proficient in the necessary theoretical knowledge and clinical skills to observe and care for the wellbeing of mother and foetus during high-risk pregnancies and childbirths with complications
    Course contents
    Follow-up and care of high-risk pregnancies
    Changes in the wellbeing of foetus
    Long-term illnesses and pregnancy
    Complications and special situations during pregnancy and childbirth
    Fear of childbirth (tokophobia)
    Clinical skills in high-risk pregnancy
    Duties and responsibilities of different professional groups during high-risk pregnancy and childbirth
    Decision-making and anticipation in midwifery practice
    Independence and responsibility towards the care of pregnancy and childbirth
    Consulting and multidisciplinary collaboration
    Allowances and benefits offered by society
    Expert lectures on obstetrics and nutrition
