    Learning outcomes of the course
    Students know how to apply knowledge from biological, medical and behavioural sciences when assessing occupational performance and participation. Students are able to assess a client’s occupational performance with different methods. They are able to analyse assessment data by means of occupational therapy models. Students are able to interpret results reliably, to report them understandably to the client and partners and to make recommendations to promote the client’s occupational performance and participation. They master the assessment process and understand the role of assessment as part of the occupational therapy process.

    • The assessment process and its role as part of the occupational therapy process
    • Models for analysing assessment in occupational therapy
    • Principles of client-centred assessment
    • Key concepts and contextual factors relating to assessment
    • Conceptual hierarchy of occupation in assessment
    • Use of occupation in assessment and assessment of occupational performance areas
    • Standardised and structured assessment methods
    • Results summary, interpretation and recommendations, as well as documentation
    • Discussion of results with the client and his or her family and with the team
    • Assessment of clients of different ages
