Objective
Students combine previously gained competence in the assessment, therapy of variable musculoskeletal problems. Students are able to choose appropriate assessment and therapy methods and use them safely and reliably considering clients’ individual objectives and needs. They provide guidance on clients’ self-care, supporting the objectives and content of the therapy and can evaluate the effectiveness of chosen physiotherapy methods. They familiarise themselves with mobility and sensing motor control by means of ultrasound. Students learn to identify basic bone structures from x-rays and assess the risk factors of physiotherapy and the possibilities for treatment as part of patients’ rehabilitation
Content
Most common musculoskeletal disorders, impaired functions and functional restrictions on participation as well as their underlying pathological processes
Choosing appropriate measurements and specific assessment methods as well as therapy methods and their safe use in client’s physiotherapy
Evaluation and follow-up of the chosen methods of therapy and outcome of client’s therapy
The student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan
During the studies work placement in various areas of helth care sector ir required
Teaching methods
Skills demonstration of musculoskeletal physiotherapy is included in the study module.
