Objective

Students are aware of the central processes of developmental psychology during different phases of life. They know the principles of human mental development. In their work, students can promote
mental development and wellbeing as well as rehabilitation. They are aware of the positive factors for change and know how to promote good mental health. Students identify causes of mental
disorders and their manifestation as well as know how to apply work methods supporting mental health to their work. Students are prepared to identify, meet and support people and communities in crisis. They can analyse mental, underlying reasons for pain and know how to apply psychological pain treatment methods to their work.
Students understand the significance of the assessment of their self-knowledge and resources to building a therapeutic relationship and implementing therapy. They are able to describe the relation
between the body and mind in diverse life situations. Students have subjective experiences of
promoting body awareness by means of relaxation. They are able to choose and use various means
of relaxation techniques to support clients’ resources.
