Objective
Students know how to act in emergencies, attacks of illness and in situations threatening general safety. They are able to take the lead and be in charge of the first aid activities based on current rules and regulations. Students identify a state of emergency; they save a person/persons from a dangerous situation and start emergency first aid as well as are able to provide symptomatic first aid. Students know how to act in situations threatening work safety and in health care of unusual conditions. Students detect potential risks for accidents threatening health and know how to prevent them.

Tasks of different organisations is rescue service and first aid as part of the care chain
Assessment of the situation, accident scene management, determining the need for first aid and encountering victims

Evaluation criteria: Accepted
Students identify a state of emergency, save person/persons from a dangerous situation, start symptomatic first aid and can make an emergency phone call. Students identify symptoms of attacks of illness and can administer first aid based on them. Students identify violent and threatening situations in nursing care and can describe modes of action to prevent them. Students are familiar with the key factors affecting fire safety and know how to use preliminary fire extinguishing equipment properly. Students are familiar with the general principles of health care in disasters.
