Objective

Student can describe the muscles of the upper limb, their anatomical location and function. He knows the main nerves and vessels. Student can describe nerveimpulse, action of neuromuscular junction and contraction mechanism of striatal muscle. Student can use professional terminology. Student are able to recall different tissue types and palpate them. Student can palpate the pulses of the upper and lower extremities. They can combine anatomical knowledge with palpation.

Content

Muscles of the upper limb. Nerves, arteries and veins of the upper limb. Nerve impulse. Contraction of muscles. Professional terminology. Bony landmarks of body. Tissue types. Skin and fascia. Pulses. Course includes 3 cr of practice.

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students use the appropriate core concepts as well as make choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They recognise the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students analyse the relationships between appropriate core concepts as well as justify their choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They analyse the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students analyse and assess the relationships between appropriate core concepts as well as make choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They assess the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
