Objective

The student understands the design principles of woven textiles and learns the technical basics of weaving. He / she recognizes bonding structures (weaves) and can apply weaving theory in practical work. The student understands the effect of binding and material on the surface texture and technical properties of woven textiles. He / she is able to evaluate the suitability of the properties of the woven fabric for different applications.

The student understands the design principles of different knitted textile surface materials. The student is able to recognize the characteristics and concepts of knitting materials. He / she understands the effect of knitwear and material on the texture and various uses of knitted textile. The student is able to apply knit technical knowledge to practical creative exercises.
