Objective

After completing the course, the student will be able to recognize and describe important problem areas in regard to cultural management and can define a theme of interest for the Bachelor's Thesis. The student will be able to prepare a feasible written working plan and to present the objectives of his/her thesis and the plan in a thesis seminar. The student will be able to argue for his/her choice of methods and content. The student’s ability to work in cooperation and to communicate professionally with representatives of working life, supervisors and other students will be developed.
The student will be able to reflect upon his/her Bachelor's Thesis in relation to what he/she has learned and to deal with the theme in an analytical manner from the chosen perspective. The student will be able to place his/her work in a broader practical and/or theoretical context. The student will demonstrate his/her learning in factual writing. During this period, independent progress and the production of results and plans will be combined. The student’s research and development-oriented approach will be reinforced. The student will be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of his/her working process.
The student will be able to present the project in oral form and will be able to argue for his/her choices. After the approval of the Bachelor's Thesis, the student completes a maturity test indicating fluent linguistic expression and familiarity with the subject matter of the thesis.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The thesis is a superficial process report that has only little significance to the student and the commissioner. The student has a command of his/her subject with the guidance of a tutor and is able to make only few independent solutions. Methods, data collecting and analyzing and use of literature are superficial. Although project presentation is not well prepared, the student is able to accomplish the maturity test that demonstrates his/her language skills and understanding of the thesis themes.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The focus of the work has been placed well and some goals of the thesis have been reached. The thesis has significance to the student and the commissioner. The working process is controlled. The use of research and development methods is organized. The student is able to answer to research questions. There is diverse in the research material and the processing of the material is well organized. The student is able to make some independent solutions and argue for his/her solutions. The presentation of results is explicit. The sources are cited right. The thesis includes exemplified illustration. Structure of the thesis is systematic. The linguistic form is well formulated. Layout of the thesis is good. The student is able to accomplish the maturity test that demonstrates his/her language skills and understanding of the thesis themes.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The focus of the work has been placed successfully and some new knowledge has been accomplished. The thesis benefits the commissioner and also the field of cultural management. The working process is well controlled. The use of research and development methods is skillful and information has been gathered independently and successfully from several sources of information. The thesis includes independent solutions that have been done in a creative and original manner. The presentation of results is explicit and they have been thought over and justified proficiently. The thesis includes exemplified illustration and the linguistic form is well formulated. The student succeeds to present the thesis results in a skillful and illustrative manner. The student is able to accomplish the maturity test that demonstrates his/her language skills and understanding of the thesis themes.

Tavoitteiden määritteleminen on osin epätarkkaa. Työllä on merkitystä tekijälleen ja toimeksiantajalle. Työprosessin suunnittelussa ja/tai hallinnassa on puutteita. Opiskelija pystyy hallitsemaan aihetta jossain määrin ja työ on edennyt jokseenkin tyydyttävästi.
Työssä on paneuduttu aiheen taustoihin, mutta teoreettinen viitekehys on suppea tai pinnallinen. Lähteiden käyttö on asianmukaista. Lähdekritiikki on osin puutteellista, mutta yltää tyydyttävälle tasolle. Menetelmällinen osaaminen on hyväksyttävää. Tutkimuskysymykset on esitetty ja niihin saadaan vastauksia. Opiskelija on turvautunut tavanomaisiin ratkaisuihin. Aineiston määrä on tutkimuskysymysten kannalta tyydyttävä. Aineiston analysointi ja ratkaisujen perustelu on tyydyttävää. Tavoitteet on hyvin määritelty ja saavutettu osittain. Uutta tietoa on tuotettu. Työllä on merkitystä opiskelijan ammatillisen kehittymisen kannalta ja se hyödyttää toimeksiantajaa. Työprosessi on hallittu. Teoreettinen viitekehys on luotu mielekkäästi. Työssä on paneuduttu taustoihin ja lähteiden käyttö on asianmukaista. Tutkimuskysymykset ovat perusteltuja ja toimeksiantajan kannalta mielekkäitä. Menetelmällinen osaaminen on hyvää ja valinnat perusteltuja. Menetelmiä on käytetty hallitusti. Tutkimuskysymyksiin on saatu vastauksia.
Aineisto on monipuolista ja käsittely systemaattista Työssä on osin itsenäisiä ratkaisuja, joita perustellaan hyvin. Tulokset on esitetty selkeästi. Dialogi taustakirjallisuuden, omien kokemusten ja tutkimusaineiston välillä on toimivaa. Työ on rajauksensa mukainen. Työ on kokonaisuudessaan hyvin perusteltu. Lähteet on merkitty oikein. Kiitettävä
Työllä on selkeä yhteys työelämään ja se tuo lisäarvoa kulttuurituotannon alalle. Tavoitteet on asetettu oivaltavasti ja ne on saavutettu. Uutta tietoa on tuotettu. Työstä saatu tieto hyödyttää toimek-siantajan ohella alaa. Tehdyillä ratkaisuilla on yleistä sovellusarvoa. Työprosessi on kokonaisuutena huolellinen, ja jäntevä. Suunnittelu ja toteutus on systemaattista ja ammattimaista.
Työssä on paneuduttu aiheen kannalta keskeisiin tietolähteisiin ja tutkimuskysymykset on perusteltu erinomaisesti. Lähteiden käyttö on asianmukaista. Teoreettinen viitekehys on luotu oivaltavasti ja se tuo lisäarvoa alalle. Tutkimuskysymykset ovat oivaltavia ja toimeksiantajan ja alan kannalta merkittäviä. Menetelmiä on käytetty taitavasti ja tietoa hankittu itsenäisesti ja kattavasti eri tietolähteistä. Tutkimuskysymyksiin on saatu vastauksia onnistuneesti. Opiskelija osoittaa hyvää perehty-neisyyttä alaan.
Aineiston hankinta ja analysointi osoittaa asioiden hallintaa. Aineisto on monipuolista ja käsittely systemaattista sekä ammattialan kannalta merkityksellistä. Työssä on tehty perusteltuja itsenäisiä ratkaisuja luovalla ja omaperäisellä tavalla. Tulokset on esitetty selkeästi ja eri tietolähteiden vuo-ropuhelun taso on erinomaista. Tulosten luotettavuus on selvitetty ja opiskelija analysoi suhdettaan aineistoon ja opinnäytetyöprosessiin onnistuneesti. Työn toteutus on kekseliästä ja ammattikäytäntöjä uusintavaa. Raportissa on oivaltavaa dialogia eri tietolähteiden välillä. Perustelun ja luotettavuuden taso on kiitettävää.
