Objective

The students are familiar with the basic concepts of dramaturgy and are able to recognize dramaturgical structures in texts and other materials, and in live performances. The students understand the scenography as a whole and recognize elements of set design, lighting, costume design, and sound design. They recognize the key concepts related to live performance aesthetics, like genre, visuality and rhythm, and understand the effects of space to a live performance. The students are familiar with key actors in the professional field in Finland and have an overview of the field as a whole. The students are able to acquire information realted to dramaturgy and live performance analysis.

The course requires at least 80% attendance. The procedure for replacing the absence is agreed with the teacher in charge of the course unit. The schedule of the course can be found in Lukkari. The students understand well the key conepts of dramaturgy and scenography. They can recognize elements of scenographical design and know the key concepts related to live performance aesthetics. They are well familiar with the Finnish professional field as a whole.

The students understand well the key conepts of dramaturgy and scenography. They understand elements of scenographical design in a versatile way and know wll the key concepts related to live performance aesthetics. They have a wide understanding of the Finnish professional field as a whole. They are able to apply their knowledge of dramaturgy and scenography in their activities.
