Objective

The student is proficient in the user-driven design process. The student learns about the basics of information design and user interface design. The student knows the practices of media work, understands the field of communication and can follow changes in the field.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the terminology of digital communication and knows the basics and methods of user-oriented design. The student knows the basic principles of usability. The student knows the contents and operating models of media work and understands the importance of project management. The student knows the basics of user research. The student knows the user-oriented design process and understands the importance of different methods and tools as part of the process. The student is familiar with the practices and principles of the media field.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student demonstrates good knowledge of digital communication terminology and can apply the principles and methods of user-oriented design in practice. The student is able to incorporate usability principles in their design work. The student is able to outline the job descriptions and operating models of the media field. The student is familiar with project management methods. The student is able to utilise user research in their work. The student can apply user-oriented design methods in the project and utilise different operating models in their work.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student demonstrates excellent knowledge and ability to reflect on the terminology of digital communication. The student can apply the principles and methods of user-oriented design in practice. The student is able to incorporate usability principles in their design work in a meaningful and justified way. The student knows the job descriptions and operating models of the media field and can evaluate them critically. The student is proficient in project management methods and can apply them in practice. The student can skillfully utilise user research in their work. The student masters the design of complex online publications. The student is able to apply the design methods in various user-oriented projects and reflect their impact on the end product.
