Objective

After the course, the students:
• can outline both human physiology and the thermal balance and the challenges they provide for clothing.
• know the special requirements for work and protective clothing
• can use the standards
• can test and interpret the results.

Content

The thermal balance of the body and the importance of thermal regulation for a human being. The effect the garment has on thermal comfort, health, and performance. Basic problems in work and protective wear. Standards, testing the materials and interpreting the results accordingly.

Qualifications

Prerequisite studies: Fiber materials and fabric textures and the chemical treatment methods of materials and commercial materials.
