Objective

Students write a report on their RDI project, which includes, for example, a concert recording or educational material.
Students are able to describe, explain, analyze and evaluate the stages and results of their project.
The maturity test takes the form of an academic article, where the student reports on the results of their R&D project.

Content

Students generate reliable information and renew working practices innovatively. Students develop, introduce and assess their expertise in a versatile and goal-oriented fashion.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The project report communicates satisfactorily to the target group. The report is complete, but the information is inadequately organized. Therefore its accessibility is only satisfactory. The Thesis presents the connection between the results and the author’s professional activities and studies in a satisfactory fashion. The language is satisfactory.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The project report is a high-quality, descriptive, well-edited, pertinent and clear entity, where all segments are well-integrated. The text is easy to read and the language is polished. The organization, references and research methods are justified and explained to the reader and end-user. The report clearly indicates how the results can be used in the music industry and education. The report introduces and assesses the connection between the R&D process and its results and the author’s professional activities and learning.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

During the R&D project, the authors make significant progress in their professional skills and the report offers new professional tools also for other specialists. The results and the ways in which they can be applied are introduced and analyzed proficiently with examples and details. The authors analyze the work process and the relevance of the results as part of their professional activities and learning and in relation to their wider network. The project and all its parts form a highly pertinent, commendable and innovative entity. The artistic/pedagogic entity is exceptionally large and meritorious. The report is well-edited and impressive. The writing is reflective, polished and clear.
The report is well-edited and finished to the last detail. The work includes a versatile supplement, e.g., a guidebook, which can be directly adopted to use in music education or in the music industry.
