The curriculum has been planned so that the student completes 60 ECTS credits per academic year and 30 ECTS credits per semester

Description

The degree programme gives an overview of sustainability in the built environment. Engineers graduated from the programme can work, for example, in the environmental assessment of buildings or building projects, or in international design and project tasks.
This broad degree gives good professional, practical and procedural knowledge in engineering, completed with specialized knowledge on sustainablity in the built environment. Engineering task require, in addition to strong professional knowledge, problem solving skills, mathematical and economical thinking, group work and management skills, ablity to use ICT, and language and communication skills. The studies focus on practically orientated problem solving, learning by doing. They improve co-operation skills and multi-cultural communication skills .
The studies comprise of:
- 95 op common studies for the degree programme. These studies are similar to the common studies of the degree programme in civil engineering (taught in Finnish). this enables mobility between the degree programmes.
- 60 op Professional studies containing structural design, building services systems and life cycle engineering.
- 10 op Innovation project
- 30 op Elective module and elective studies
- 30 op Work placement
- 15 op Thesis
- 240 op Total
