Lighting, Editing and Post-Production 1Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The students carry out both shooting and lighting of a short fiction film. They can use camera and lighting equipment and make a shooting and lighting plan. The students can lead a camera group when shooting.
They also learn the basics of editing fiction, and focus on work methods and concepts. They learn how to use an editing software.

Basics of visual design in fiction
Basics of a lighting plan in fiction
Basics of the professional camera equipment
Basics of the lighting equipment
Duties of the cameraman, camera assistant, and the illuminator
Occupational security when shooting

The basics of editing fiction: pre-planning and scheduling; material acquisition;
dramaturgy from the point of view of the editor at different stages of work; editing
dialogues and action scenes; the importance of the audio world as well as the co-operation with the director and sound designer.
Studying the currently used editing software

The course is compulsory for the students of visual image and editing.
