History of Interior DesignLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student will be able to identify the different periods of European
interior design, their specific characteristics, forms and color
palette. The student will be able to identify references to historic styles in the
modern design and interior decoration. The student knows where to find
information on the history of interior design and is able to apply this
information in her/his own design.

- History of Styles of European Interior Design
- Interior Decoration of the 20th century and the major movements
- The Influence of Architecture and Fashion
- Materials, colours and forms of different periods and
their changes.
