After the course the student recognizes technological differences between selected renewable processes and their applicability.
After the course the student recognizes the possibilities of process integration and energy saving.
After the course, the student knows energy saving related legislation and rating of green buildings and offices (like LEED, Green Office, BREEAM)
Content of the course varies yearly.
Content
1. The course explores selected renewable and environmentally sustainable energy conversion processes. Scientific principles of these technologies and their applications are reviewed and benefits and trade off are valued. Course focuses on near term future applications and advanced use of selected technologies.
2. Basic energy saving options and energy saving legislation and certificates.

1. Student can calculate overall energy balance of studied renewable energy system.
2. Student recognizes possibilities and limitations of studied renewable energy use and recognizes scientific background of studied renewable energy conversion.
3.After the course, student recognizes energy saving related legislation and rating of green buildings and offices (like LEED, Green Office, BREEAM)
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Student can apply previous knowledge for simple design of distributed energy system in building or limited area level and include energy saving options for selected area.
