Objective

After completion of course student is familiar with the basic terminology of geodesy. Student will also understand the geophysical and mathematical backgrounds of geodesy.
Student is familiar with common geodetic measurement instruments.
Student understands basics of common geodetic calculations.
Student understands the meaning of measurement and mapping techniques to geoinformatics and real estate techniques.
The student will be familiar with the basics of construction measurements. On completion of the course the student will be able to use levelling machinery and a tacheometer in mapping and position measurement

Content

Basics of geodesy, geodetic calculations and geodetic instruments.
Basics of Remote Sensing, Laserscanning and Satellite Position and Navigation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to describe coordinate and altitude systems. He or she is able to do geodetic calculations in construction measurements. When instructed, he or she is able to measure differences in distance and altitude, as well as perform mapping and position measurements of structures.

The student is able to apply the above listed, learned knowledge and skills independently.
